Micropropagation for the establishment of plantations of fast-growing poplars for the needs of alternative energetics in Ukraine
Abstract
Aim is to asses the perspectives for creating short-rotation plantations to improve the energy situation in Ukraine. To hold microclonal propagation of poplar clone plant material of national selection that can later be used to create energy plantations. Methods. Microclonal propagation of poplar plants. Results. The analysis of energy sector in Ukraine given the experience of the leading countries in terms of alternative energy shows the importance of the transition to the "green" economy. For this is important establishment short-rotation plantations of fast-growing trees. During the experiments, there were improved methods of poplar microclonal reproduction and regenerants adaptation to soil conditions. Conclusions. Prospects of creating short-rotation plantations of poplar in Ukraine were discussed. Through methods of microclonal propagation was obtained material for further laying plantations of fast-growing poplar.
