  • Visnik ukrains'kogo tovaristva genetikiv i selekcioneriv

The scientific and practical journal Bulletin of the Ukrainian Society of Geneticists and Breeders (Visnik ukrains'kogo tovaristva genetikiv i selekcioneriv) was founded in 2003 as a printed periodical of the M.I. Vavylov Society of Geneticists and Breeders of Ukraine.
The journal is a peer-reviewed professional scientific periodical in the field of biological sciences. It covers theoretical foundations, current state, challenges, methodologies, and research results in genetics, breeding, biotechnology, molecular biology, genomics, bioinformatics, population genetics, and the genetics of plants, animals, and microorganisms. The journal also addresses the impact of these disciplines on related areas of biology, as well as on medical and agricultural sciences.
A significant focus of the journal is devoted to the practical application of advances in genetics, breeding, and biotechnology in agriculture, medicine, and various branches of industry, particularly biotechnology. The journal publishes original research articles, review papers, and applied studies on the cellular and molecular foundations of modern biotechnology, genetic engineering, and gene therapy; the molecular mechanisms of heredity and variability; methods for regulating hereditary variability and implementing genetic information; as well as recent advancement in both the theoretical foundations of breeding and their practical applications.
The aim of the journal is to provide an open-access platform for publishing original research in genetics and breeding; to promote the development of modern methodological approaches in genetic, breeding, and biotechnological research; and to support scientists, practitioners, breeders, and medical professionals working in these fields. The objectives of the journal include: promoting new directions and methods in genetic, breeding, and biotechnological research; providing information about congresses, conferences, and scientific meetings; publishing reviews and information on new scientific publications; highlighting outstanding figures of Ukrainian science; reporting on major events in the activities of the Vavylov Ukrainian Society of Geneticists and Breeders, including the work of its Presidium and regional branches, as well as the achievements of its members.
Special attention is given to the implementation of genetic, breeding, and biotechnological methods in practical breeding work with animals, plants, and microorganisms; to the application of genetic and genetic engineering approaches in human genetics; and to evaluating the effectiveness of these methods.
The “Bulletin of the Ukrainian Society of Geneticists and Breeders” is intended for biologists, biotechnologists, medical professionals, breeders, researchers, university teachers, and students of agricultural, medical, and pedagogical higher education institutions, as well as specialists in breeding, biotechnology, and medical genetics.
The journal is indexed in Ukrainian and international bibliographic and abstract databases such as Index Copernicus; Crossref; Google Scholar; Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine
The journal is included in the official List of Scientific Professional Publications of Ukraine in which the results of dissertations for the degrees of Doctor of Sciences and Doctor of Philosophy in Biological Sciences may be published (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 1643, dated December 28, 2019).
